- Considered safer for anything involving direct skin contact - jewelry, kaleidescopes - or any project that might be in contact with food

- Melting temperature is 445°F; flows much like 50/50 solder
- Requires a hotter-than-usual soldering iron; either turn your heat up (Hakko) or use a hotter tip (Weller100)
- Practice to get a feel for how the lead free solder flows
- Use finishing wax to prevent tarnish
