- Large outer brass tube is used with the small inner brass rod (sold separately), as a 2-part assembly for constructing hinges for boxes
- The hollow tube is soldered to the box top. The inner rod is inserted into the tube and is bent at 90 degrees at both ends
- It is then soldered to the box bottom
